About Tractor Talks

Each year, OSHA awards grants to nonprofit organizations through its Susan Harwood Training Grant Program. Grants are awarded to provide training and education programs for employers and workers on the recognition, avoidance, and prevention of safety and health hazards in their workplaces and to inform workers of their rights and employers of their responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act.

NC State’s Industry Expansion Solutions and the Southeastern OSHA Training Institute Education Center received funding through the Susan Harwood Grant Program to develop training materials specifically targeting agricultural safety. Called “Tractor Talks,” the materials include handouts, pocket cards, and PowerPoint slides for each of 12 topics. The goal is to provide an opportunity for farm owners and operators to connect with their workers and share important information related to farm safety.

This website was created to mirror grant materials from Southeastern OTI Education Center’s Tractor Talks in a mobile-friendly and accessible format. Additionally, all Tractor Talks materials are available as a free download.
